Corrosion Resistance:
Hastelloy G-30 is a high-chromium nickel-based alloy with superior corrosion resistance compared to most nickel-based and iron-based alloys in mixed environments such as commercial phosphoric acid and many highly oxidizing acid mediums like nitric acid/hydrochloric acid, nitric acid/hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. The G-30 alloy can prevent the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone of welding, making its welded products suitable for various chemical processing applications. Hastelloy G-30 alloy exhibits excellent resistance to mixtures of hydrofluoric acid/nitric acid used in applications such as stainless steel pickling. Compared to other nickel-based or iron-based alloys, Hastelloy G-30 alloy demonstrates better resistance in commercial phosphoric acid. Its usage in the fertilizer industry, particularly as acid evaporators, is increasing.
