High temperature, corrosion two all-round alloy--INCONEL 600

Main composition: 77Ni-16Cr-6Fe

The high nickel content of INCONEL 600 gives the alloy very strong resistance to chloride stress fission corrosion, as well as maintaining its high corrosion resistance in the reduced state and strong corrosion resistance in alkaline solutions. Due to the chromium content, the corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments is superior to that of pure nickel.

INCONEL 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron solid solution strengthened alloy with good high temperature corrosion resistance (acid and alkali resistance) and oxidation resistance, excellent hot and cold working and welding process performance, satisfactory thermal strength and high plasticity below 700℃.

The alloy is designed for environments with temperatures as low as 1093°C. The alloy has a high resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. Oxidation resistance at high temperatures is extremely good, with good oxidation resistance and carbonation stability at 1093°C (however, it has an upper temperature limit of 535°C in reducing atmospheres containing hydrogen sulfide).

It is very effective in handling hydrogen chloride and chlorine at high temperatures; hydrogen chloride can be used safely up to about 538°C and chlorine up to 510°C. It can also be used for nitrogen, hydrogen and carburization. The alloy also has excellent corrosion resistance to nitrogen, hydrogen and carburization and is therefore used in various heat treatment furnaces.

Application areas: nuclear power generation equipment, heat exchangers, heat transfer manifolds, bellows compensators, heat treatment steam baskets, chemical evaporation tanks, stills, acid and alkali industrial machinery, jet engine parts, turbojet engine refueling parts, chlorination equipment at 538°C, alkaline pulp equipment, high temperature chlorine treatment equipment, heat treatment furnace parts, and other parts used at high temperatures.

Execution standard: UNS N06600, DIN/EN 2.4816, ASTM B168, ASME SB-168, AMS 5540, NCF 600.

Supporting welding consumables: welding rod grade Alloy182, standard AWS A5.11 (ENiCrFe-3); wire grade Alloy606, standard AWS A5.14 (ERNiCr-3, SMC grade INCO82 wire, often customers directly to find the grade).
