N04400
Monel 400 is a corrosion-resistant alloy widely recognized for its extensive application, excellent performance, and significant usage. This alloy demonstrates outstanding corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine-containing environments, as well as excellent resistance to hot concentrated alkalis. Additionally, it exhibits resistance to corrosion in neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmospheric conditions, and organic compounds. One notable characteristic of this alloy is its general resistance to stress corrosion cracking and good machinability.

Corrosion Resistance:
1. Marine Environment: Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy suitable for deformation processing, with a very low corrosion rate in flowing seawater. However, stagnant seawater conditions may lead to crevice corrosion and pitting.
2. Fluorides: Monel 400 is one of the few alloys that can be used in fluoride-containing environments.
3. Hydrofluoric Acid: It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid, even at concentrations up to the boiling point, making it one of the few materials capable of withstanding hydrofluoric acid corrosion.
4. Sulfuric Acid Media: Monel 400 is corrosion-resistant in sulfuric acid concentrations below 85%.
5. Water Corrosion: Monel 400 alloy demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance in most water corrosion situations, with minimal pitting and stress corrosion cracking, and a corrosion rate of less than 0.025mm/a.
6. High-Temperature Corrosion: Monel 400 can operate continuously at temperatures of around 600°C in air. In high-temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026mm/a.
7. Ammonia: Due to its high nickel content, Monel 400 can withstand corrosion below 585°C under anhydrous ammonia and ammonia conditions.
Applications: Marine heat exchangers, seawater desalination equipment, salt production equipment, marine and chemical processing equipment, propeller shafts and pumps, gasoline and water tanks, etc.
