E(R)2209
ER2209 welding rod is comprised of Cr-Ni-Mo wire and can be used for welding duplex stainless steel S31803/S32205, which is 22%Cr-5%Ni-2%Mo-0.15%N. It can also be utilized for welding SAF2304. This welding rod is employed in welding marine platform oil and gas, petrochemical equipment, pipeline systems, oil production pipelines, lifting pipes, etc. Duplex stainless steel pipes, plates, equipment, and forgings typically have approximately a 50:50 ferrite and austenite composition. It exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion in external environments and has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking caused by chloride ions. It can be used for short arc, spray arc, or pulsed arc welding.
