Record-Breaking Delivery: Large-Diameter Alloy 59 Custom Bars Arrive via Air Freight
We are proud to announce the successful air-freight delivery of our largest batch of Alloy 59 (UNS N06059) custom bars to date. Sourced from the industry leaders at VDM Metals, this order represents a major milestone for our team.
This project stood out not only for its aggressive timeline but also for its massive scale. With bar diameters reaching 400 mm (approx. 15.75 inches), the delivery underscores our unique capability to supply large-format, fully customized nickel alloy products on a global scale.
Facing a tight deadline, our team executed a seamless, high-speed operation—from mill selection to final doorstep delivery—proving once again that we can pair technical precision with industry-leading turnaround times.
Strategic Sourcing & Streamlined Logistics
To meet the rigorous requirements for such large-diameter bars, our technical team conducted a deep-dive evaluation of top international mills. We ultimately selected VDM Metals, choosing them for their world-class expertise in high-performance nickel alloys and their proven ability to manufacture oversized materials.
Once the order was greenlit, our logistics team fast-tracked every phase of the process:
- Production:Prioritized scheduling with the mill to beat standard lead times.
- Logistics:Secured dedicated air freight to bypass slower sea routes.
- Customs:Proactively managed clearance protocols to ensure zero delays at the border.
By integrating procurement and logistics into one fluid motion, we delivered this record-setting order in record time.
Alloy 59: The Gold Standard for Corrosion Resistance
Alloy 59 is a premium high-molybdenum nickel-chromium alloy designed for the world’s harshest environments. Its chemical composition includes:
- Nickel:≥ 59%
- Chromium:22–24%
- Molybdenum:15–16.5%
This specific chemistry allows the alloy to form a stable passive film in both oxidizing and reducing environments, providing elite protection against:
- Pitting and crevice corrosion
- Stress corrosion cracking
Key Performance Advantages
- Unrivaled Chemical Resistance:Performs reliably in aggressive media, including hydrochloric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acids. It is a top-tier choice for wet-process metallurgy and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems.
- Rugged Mechanical Properties:* Tensile Strength: ≥ 690 MPa
- Yield Strength:≥ 310 MPa
- Elongation:≥ 40%
- Maintains structural integrity from cryogenic temperatures (-196°C) up to 400°C(and up to 600°C for short-term exposure).
- Superior Workability:Low carbon and silicon content ensures excellent hot and cold workability. It is easily welded without the need for complex post-weld heat treatments.
