  • Corrosion Resistance

    MONEL® 400 is a nickel-copper-based solid-solution alloy, exhibiting excellent resistance to corrosion in a wide variety of marine and chemical processing environments. The alloy combines high strength with good weldability and fabrication characteristics and demonstrates outstanding resistance to flowing seawater, brackish water, steam, and many reducing media. MONEL® 400 is particularly noted for its exceptional resistance to hydrofluoric acid and offers good resistance to sulfuric and hydrochloric acids under reducing conditions. The alloy also exhibits excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in most fresh and industrial waters. Due to its combination of corrosion resistance, mechanical reliability, and ease of fabrication, MONEL® 400 is widely used in marine engineering applications, chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and petroleum refining industries.

    Marine engineering equipment, seawater handling systems, pumps, valves, pump and propeller shafts, chemical processing equipment, hydrofluoric acid alkylation units, heat exchangers, steam generator tubing, boiler feedwater heaters, refinery process vessels and piping, crude petroleum stills, oil and gas processing equipment, and marine fixtures and fasteners.

  • Matching Welding Materials

    AWS A5.14 ERNiCu-7 or AWS A5.11 ENiCu-7 is recommended.

  • Product Forms

    Sheet, strip, rod, wire, forgings, bright bars, welding materials, flanges, etc. Custom processing according to customer drawings is available.
