Comparison of Nickel-Based Alloy Grades Across Countries

TIME: 2024-10-19 SOURCE: Ruisen

In our daily work, we often receive inquiries from clients for nickel-based alloys following American, Chinese, and European standards. These materials have different names across regions. For example, in the U.S., alloys are named using company-specific systems like Inconel and Hastelloy. In Germany, alloys follow the W.Nr. numbering system, while China uses national standards such as GH (high-temperature alloys) and NS (corrosion-resistant alloys).

Different naming conventions for the same type of alloy can lead to confusion during inquiries. Below is a reference table of common nickel-based alloys for your convenience.

Although standards vary slightly in terms of chemical composition, mechanical properties, and heat treatment, the goal remains the same: ensuring the quality and performance of nickel-based alloys meet specific application requirements. When selecting the right alloy, it's essential to follow the relevant standard based on your operational needs.
